Lively Medicine Show at Northtown Library

The Anoka County Library presents another rip roarin’ concert as part of its Live at the Library series.

The Medicine Show, a lively three-piece band based in the Twin Cities, will appear in a free concert at Northtown Library, Saturday, April 6, 2 p.m., 711 County Road 10 N.E., Blaine.

The show will include a rapid-fire combination of music, dance, magic and comedy. The performance will take you back to the golden age of the American Medicine Show, when a traveling medicine show visited towns and used entertainment to sell the latest homemade remedy, promising to be a cure-all for any illness.

The multi-talented trio of musicians offer a potpourri of singing and instrument playing, including a banjo, stand-up bass, guitar and whizbang, a conglomeration of such instruments as horns, cymbals, an old-fashioned metal washboard and more.

Seating may be limited.

Northtown Library is located at 711 County Road 10 in Blaine.

At What cost to the tax payers was this group booked? Also wouldn’t it be brought to the public by the tax payers and not the library? I don’t expect an answer but it would be nice to hear the truth.
