The Wellness Program of Mercy and Unity hospitals, part of Allina Health, offers the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking series to help people become tobacco-free.
There will be a series of eight classes on Mondays, March 25 through May 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospital. One of the classes will take place Wednesday, April 17.
Topics include health issues associated with tobacco use, coping skills to prevent relapse and group support to reinforce the decision to stop using tobacco.
The cost is $100 for the series. Some insurance plans reimburse members and scholarships are available.
