The results are in. The judges have spoken with their votes in the seventh annual teen art show and competition held at Blaine City Hall.
A total of 40 teens from area high schools participated. Blaine Arts Council members were the judges.
“They said it was one of their more difficult years to judge based on all the great entries,” said Tom Godfrey, program supervisor of Blaine Park and Recreation Department and event organizer.
Participants were honored at a March 19 awards ceremony at city hall. Winners received an award certificate and a gift certificate to Michaels.
Award winners for the 2013 show are:
Best of show: Sydney Yozamp, Blaine High School
Painting: first place, Samantha Hamernick, Centennial High School; second place, James Straw, Blaine High School; third place, Olivia Forsberg, Spring Lake Park High School.
Drawing: first place, Brittany Brama, Blaine High School; second place, Elia Candelas, Irondale High School; third place, Hanna Timm, Blaine High School.
Photography: first place, Anneke Linser, Centennial Middle School
Sculpture/3D: first place, Larissa Labo, Spring Lake Park High School; second place, Abby Kukieika, Spring Lake Park High School.
Pastel: first place, Julie Nguyen, Blaine High School; second place, Mariah Nelson, Spring Lake Park High School; third place, Makenzie Gibbs, Spring Lake Park High School.
The Blaine Park and Recreation Department and Blaine Arts Council presented the teen art show. Exhibits have been on display at Blaine City Hall during March.
