Blaine police reports for the week of March 22-28

Theft, Burglary

• On March 22 at noon in the 10250 block of Lexington Avenue N.E., it was reported that a man shoplifted a Bushnell laser rangefinder valued at $158.99. The suspect has not been identified, but an associate was charged for aiding and abetting the theft.

• On March 24 at 11:51 a.m. in the 10900 block of Club West Parkway N.E., a woman reported that someone stole her purse and used her credit cards.

• On March 25 at 11:33 a.m. in the 10600 block of University Avenue N.E., a woman reported losing her iPad.

• On March 25 at 12:17 p.m. in the 9990 block of Goodhue Street N.E., it was reported that someone pried open a locked service door to enter a business and steal items.

• On March 25 at 2:30 p.m. in the 10600 block of 6th Street N.E., a man reported that he discovered that an insurance company was drawing money from his checking account to pay for another person’s insurance since 2007.

• On March 27 at 7:49 a.m. in the 11300 block of Quincy Street N.E., a man reported that someone kicked in the front door or his home and stole a jar with about $300 of change and a Dell laptop still new in the box.

• On March 27 at 3:16 p.m. in the 300 block of Northtown Drive N.E., a business reported that a man left the store with three Playstation 3’s without paying.

Criminal Property Damage

• On March 23 at 12:40 p.m. in the 13100 block of Tyler Street N.E., it was reported that someone used a BB gun to shoot the back of a house six times. Small holes were found in the siding.

• On March 24 at 2:02 p.m. in the 10500 block of University Avenue N.E., a restaurant owner reported that someone the evening before around 10:15 p.m. cut the cable to a security camera on his property.

• On March 27 at 7:52 a.m. in the 10600 block of Highway 65 N.E., someone broke into two vehicles by smashing windows.

Assaults

• On March 24 at 1:32 a.m. in the 420 block of 98th Avenue N.E., a husband and wife were both arrested for domestic assault.

• On March 24 at 4:58 a.m. in the 10600 block of 6th Street N.E., a woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her at their apartment after returning from a club.

DWIs

• On March 23 at 10:24 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 N.E. and 117th Avenue N.E., an officer stopped a driver because their driver’s side brake light was not working. The driver was subsequently arrested for DWI.

• On March 24 at 12:02 a.m. at the intersection of 109th Avenue N.E. and 6th Street N.E., a hit and run accident was reported. The driver was located and arrested for DWI.

• On March 24 at 10:42 p.m. at the intersection of University Avenue N.E. and 125th Avenue N.E., an officer stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a red light. The driver was arrested for DWI.

• On March 27 at 3:42 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 N.E. and 93rd Lane N.E., an officer stopped a driver because they did not have a valid driving status. The driver was found to have a cancelled license and was also arrested for DWI.

• On March 27 at 5:56 p.m. in the 11800 block of Aberdeen Street N.E., police were dispatched to an accident scene. One driver was arrested for DWI.

Miscellaneous

• On March 22 at 6:11 p.m. in the 10500 block of Central Avenue N.E., it was reported that counterfeit currency was exchanged.

• On March 23 at 4:52 p.m. in the 1430 block of 93rd Lane N.E., a woman was arrested after trying to use a fraudulent check at a business.

• On March 25 at 12:38 a.m. at the intersection of 125th Avenue N.E. and Ulysses Street N.E., an officer stopped a driver for having no light illuminating their license plate. The officer ultimately found a grinder with a small amount of marijuana and a pipe in the vehicle.

• On March 25 at 7:57 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 N.E. and 85th Avenue N.E., a driver was stopped for a lane violation and failure to stop for a red arrow. The driver was taken to jail on drug charges.

• On March 26 at 10:12 a.m. in the 12500 block of Highway 65 N.E., an officer was dispatched to check on the welfare of a possibly impaired man, who was subsequently transported to jail on drug charges.

• On March 27 at 4:42 p.m. in the 12400 block of Ulysses Street N.E., a drunk man harassing customers had to be tased and was arrested for obstructing officers.

• On March 28 at 11:03 p.m. in the 580 block of Northtown Drive N.E., a man was arrested for check forgery.
