Reading series at ARCC

As part of the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Two Rivers Reading Series, author Scott Wrobel will read from and discuss his short story collection “Cul de Sac,” Tuesday, April 23, 2 to 2:50 p.m., in the Coon Rapids Campus Legacy Room.

“Cul de Sac” focuses on the lives of several middle-aged men who live on a cul de sac in a suburban neighborhood.

The stories explore what it means to be a man and father in modern American in Wrobel’s serious, but often amusing, prose.

Wrobel has published in Great River Review, Identity Theory, Minnesota Monthly, Night Train, Pindeldyboz (web), The Rake, Sententia and Word Riot, among other places.

He is the winner of a 2006-07 Loft Mentor Series Fiction Award and the 2008 Third Coast Creative Nonfiction Contest.

Wrobel has been teaching English for 14 years and currently teaches at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
