Barton, Deloris E. age 88 of Brooklyn Park, passed away April 12, 2013. She was a woman of much love for family and friends whose laughter will be missed.
Born on January 8, 1925 in Cokato,MN of dairy farmers Edgar and Edna (Jorgenson)Berg. Deloris was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato, MN. She graduated from Cokato High School in 1943, worked at Phillips Petroleum in Minneapolis where she met her husband Frank who died of Parkinson’s disease in 2001. They were married in 1949 and settled in Frank’s hometown of Brainerd MN where she worked at the highway department office. In 1952 they moved to Camden while building the house in Brooklyn Park where they moved to in 1953 and she lived for the last 60 years. Besides being a homemaker there, she worked as a cook for the Anoka Hennepin school district, mostly at Jackson Junior High.
Preceded in death by her husband Frank, stillborn (Rh-) infant sons Bernard and Timothy, sister Adeline, brothers Lawrence and Howard.
Survived by son Bill (Shelly); granddaughter Anna,; siblings, Paul Berg, June Weiss, LuAnn (Victor)Luebke.
Funeral service was Tuesday April 16th at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 South Snelling Ave, St. Paul with a reviewal Monday 5-8 PM at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Ave, Anoka.
Burial at Sunset Memorial Park.
