Ramsey sells surplus city property to neighbor

Ramsey has sold a piece of surplus property.

By unanimous vote, the Ramsey City Council March 12 approved selling a 3.1-acre parcel, located at 178th Avenue and Vicuna Street, to nearby property owner David Pomroy for $42,000.

The city has owned the property since 1989, according to Patrick Brama, management analyst.

The 2011 and 2012 strategic planning process created an inventory of surplus city-owned land, he said.

After reviewing the city future development plans, this property, known as Windsorwoods, was not included in any plans and was declared surplus, Brama said.
