Girl Scouts collecting food for Anoka-Hennepin families

Girl Scout Troop 13310 will be accepting food donations at two local schools Saturday, April 20 to help the families of elementary and middle school students in the Anoka-Hennepin School District.

The food drop-off sites will be open 9 a.m. to noon April 20 at McKinley Elementary School, 1740 Constance Blvd. N.E. in Ham Lake, and Roosevelt Middle School, 650 125th Ave. N.E. in Blaine.

Troop 13310 co-leaders Jenny Miller and Amy Obodzinski said the food will be going to families with students that attend Anoka-Hennepin middle and elementary schools exclusively. About 10 Girl Scouts are in Troop 13310 out of Ham Lake and are doing this to earn their Bronze Award, which is the highest honor that a Girl Scout Junior can achieve.
