Once the snow finally melts, golfers of all ages will once again hit the green grass at area courses.
Children ages five to 14 are encouraged to participate in U.S. Kids Golf Minneapolis local tour this summer on several top-notch courses June through August. The tour begins at Emerald Greens in Hastings June 14 and concludes Aug. 18 with a tour championship at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.
Brad Pluth, director of the Minneapolis local tour, said, “The U.S. Kids Golf local tour is a great opportunity for kids of all abilities to play in a competitive environment. The golf course is a great place for kids to learn valuable lessons that will help them throughout their life.”
Caddies are encouraged for each participant and required for those eight and younger.
The top five finishers at each round and age group will receive priority status from U.S. Kids Golf to register for major events.
Player of the Year in each age group will receive green status, the highest level awarded, and an invitation to the world championship hosted at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
