“Crisis Planning and Prevention Training,” a free seminar open to parents and people working with children, will take place Tuesday, April 23, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Emma B. Howe YMCA, 8950 Springbrook Drive N.W., Coon Rapids.
The training is sponsored by Alexandra House, Anoka County Children and Family Council, Canvas Health and NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Kristy Collier from NAMI, Peggy Mattingly from Canvas Health Crisis Mobile Response and Diana Hoffman from Anoka County will teach the class.
They will focus on how to recognize a crisis, when to call for help, who to call and what to expect from the professionals who respond.
“This training will provide practical information on crisis planning and community resources,” said Don Ilse, co-chairperson of the Anoka County Children and Family Council and Anoka County Human Services division manager.
