Strom graduates from county reserve academy

Kaylee Strom is Coon Rapids Police Reserve’s newest officer.

She graduated from the Anoka County Reserve Academy at a ceremony April 13 following eight weeks of training.

Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony.

The Coon Rapids Police Reserve unit has been active since Nov. 20, 1962.

Police Reserve officers assist when extra personnel are needed.

Reserve officers are community volunteers who represent a range of age and career groups.

They receive uniforms and special training.

Each year, Police Reserve officers donate hundreds of service hours to the community assisting with traffic control, patrol at events and parades, searching for missing people and other assignments.
