The contract to reline three sections of Spring Lake Park’s sewer lines has been awarded.
At its April 15 meeting, the Spring Lake Park City Council unanimously awarded the contract to Instituform Technologies USA, LLC for $128,298.
The company, which performed the same work last year for the city, was the lowest of six bidders, said City Engineer Phil Gravel.
“(The bid) came in lower than the estimate,” he said.
The estimated cost was $156,800.
When Instituform Technologies did the 2012 sewer lining project, “the company was great to work with,” said Public Works Director Terry Randall.
The sewer relining project this year will be to the sewer sections on Able Street between 81st and 83rd avenues, 83rd Avenue between Able and Tyler streets and 81th Avenue between Terrace and Able streets.
The project is being paid out of the utility renewal and replacement fund, said Randall.
It is expected to begin late May or early June.
