New Westwood Junior High School will be dedicated Sunday, April 29

The Board of Education of Independent School District 16, Spring Lake Park, will dedicate Westwood Junior high and senior high school, 711 91st Avenue N.E., Blaine, Sunday, April 29, at 2 p.m.

Westwood Junior high school is constructed to accommodate the best of the traditional educational practices and the newest innovative educational programs. The structure is a result of the cooperative planning effort of teaching, maintenance and administrative staff working closely with architects and the Board of Education.

Westwood students place second in math contest

A seventh grade Westwood Junior High School team placed second out of 51 teams at the 16th annual mathematics contest, at St. Cloud.

The contest is sponsored by the St. Cloud State University mathematics and computer science department and was held April 9. Fourteen Westwood students participated in the competition.

‘I am a Star’ is Westwood production

Can a young soap opera star convince high school students she is a shy and quiet nerd?

That’s just one of the premises in “I am a Star,” the spring production at Westwood Middle School.

The soap opera star doesn’t want to sign a new contract because she was the part in a movie.
