A new frozen yogurt shop opened in Blaine just as it finally started feeling like spring.
RainbowYo opened April 20 at 10950 Club West Parkway in Blaine in the shopping center that includes Wild Bill’s Sports Saloon. It is scheduled to be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., but the new owners will be flexible with hours.
RainbowYo offers 12 different flavors of frozen yogurt at one time, but some will change every couple of weeks to offer customers more choices. Some current flavors include “say cheese cake,” “mango madness” and “chocolate mint.”
You can have your yogurt plain or top it off with candy, colorful sprinkles or fresh fruit.
Business owners James and Tari Wang are celebrating their 17th wedding anniversary this June. They used to work in the creative design and advertising business, although Tari the last three years was a recess monitor for the Forest Lake School District.
James had been in the creative design and marketing business for 30 years and had his own company, but he was essentially not his own boss because he worked with large corporate clients.
James thought about opening a frozen yogurt shop last fall. His family has traveled all over the country and noticed there were numerous frozen yogurt shops on every coast, but not many in Minnesota.
His wife supported this decision and decided to join in this new life adventure. With the help of their three daughters, they came up with the name RainbowYo because it rhymes, is catchy and shows that this is a fun place to be. The store is painted in vibrant colors to reflect this.
The Wang family lives in Columbus, but they are very familiar with the Blaine community and are excited for the business opportunities it brings.
