Anoka Legion celebrates birthday

The Anoka Edward B. Cutter Post 102 American Legion Auxiliary hosted its annual birthday party dinner at the post home to celebrate the 94th birthday of the American Legion.

It is also the 93rd anniversary of Edward B. Cutter Post 102, which was chartered Aug. 25, 1919.

Unit President Darlene Thell and Post Acting Commander Ray Turnquist presided over the evening’s festivities.

Guest speakers were from the Department of Minnesota American Legion.

Past post commanders, presidents and Sons of the American Legion commanders were recognized, along with 50-plus year members of the post, unit and SAL.
