The East Bethel City Council voted unanimously May 15 to nominate Deputy City Clerk Wendy Warren for the 2013 League of Minnesota Leadership Award.
Warren has worked for the city since August 2002.
According to a memo by City Administrator Jack Davis, “Her name has become synonymous with East Bethel. She has given the city and its residents 11 years of dedicated and selfless service and is involved in many of the activities and functions of the city. If there were a word association game that used the phrase ‘city of East Bethel, Minnesota’, Wendy Warren would be the answer.”
In addition to her basic job duties, Warren manages the city’s elections, prepares the quarterly newsletter and manages the city’s website.
Warren’s commitment to the city of East Bethel extends beyond her employment. She is also a volunteer for the kiddie parade and movie in the park for Booster Day. She is active in Booster Day planning and is the past parade director for that event. Warren also plans, organizes and manages the East Bethel Pet Clinic Day for the city on her own time.
“I feel very privileged to work for the city of East Bethel, the residents, businesses, city council and with our staff,” Warren said. “I was deeply moved and feel very honored to be nominated for this award.”
