Ladies Auxiliary hosts boot sale, flea market, expo

Coon Rapids VFW Ladies Auxiliary borrowed from the Brits, planning a boot sale, flea market and expo on the grounds May 18.

Rainy weather kept the boots (car trunks) closed, so folks set up shop beneath tents and displayed a wide variety of items during the May 18 boot sale, flea market and expo hosted by Coon Rapids VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Photo by Sue Austreng

Rainy weather kept boots (car trunks) closed so vendors set up shop beneath canvas and tarp tents and kept the event from becoming a complete wash out.

Everything from yard ornaments and fishing equipment to jewelry, sports memorabilia and home accessories was for sale during the five-hour event.

Burgers and hot dogs, snacks and beverages were offered and the Buffalo Youth Shooting Group made BB gun safety tips available.

And for the second year, John (Johntourage) Daniel provided musical entertainment.

Money from the event will help fund youth scholarships, nursing home lunches, holiday baskets, cancer research and care, veterans services and more.
