A man who has written a book about how he has cheated death many times will be the speaker at Coon Rapids Senior Services’ Tea Talk program. Scott Gottschalk, author of “Nine Lives to Eternity,” will tell his story at the Coon Rapids Civic Center Wednesday, June 5, 1:30 p.m.
According to Gottschalk, his numerous near death experiences have accounted for 26 fractured bones and have rendered him unconscious on five separate occasions.
Gottschalk was raised on a farm near the small village of Byron in southeastern Minnesota and when obtaining a bachelor of science degree with a double major in animal science and agriculture, he began writing his first nonfiction book. That was “The Folk and Their Fauna,” the story of a man’s love affair with animals.
His second nonfiction book and the subject of his Tea Talk presentation, “Nine Lives to Eternity” was written following what Gottschalk describes on his website as “a horrendous motorcycle collision that placed him in the throes of death.”
Gottschalk will sign and sell his books at the end of his Tea Talk presentation. Refreshments will also be served. The cost to attend is $3.
