A Minneapolis man is facing two felony charges in Anoka County District Court for allegedly assaulting his Blaine girlfriend.
Roderick Varrell Howse, 26, was arraigned May 3 on felony charges of domestic assault and terroristic threats.
According to the criminal complaint, Blaine Police were dispatched the evening of April 30 to a home on 115th Avenue on a domestic call.
Officers saw that the woman had an injury to her lip, but she would not specify how she got hurt. She alleged her boyfriend had smashed her window and fled and that she was scared of him. Police could not find Howse that evening, according to the complaint.
The next morning, police were once again called to the home. She alleged Howe had returned, angry that she had called the police, and pushed her down and threatened to beat her up. She told police that she is pregnant with his child, according to the complaint.
Howse was located and arrested that morning.
According to the complaint, Howse has two prior convictions in Hennepin County, one for misdemeanor assault in 2007 and another in 2009 for a gross misdemeanor violation of a contact order. He was also convicted in 2010 in Anoka County and in 2011 in Ramsey County for two more violation of no contact orders offenses, the first being a gross misdemeanor and in 2011 a felony conviction.
May 30 is his next court appearance.
