The Blaine City Council June 6 approved final and preliminary plats for 88 new homes.
The single-family and detached home final plats approved were 19 for Hans Hagen Homes in the 54th addition of The Lakes of Radisson at the corner of Lakes Parkway and Marina Circle, 28 for Centra Homes in The Lakes 55th addition by Edison and Alamo streets, 13 for Woodland Development Corporation in the area of 121st Avenue and Woodland Parkway in the Woodland Village 5th addition, and 14 for Arcadia Holding Group LLC at 132nd Avenue and Urbank Court in the Quail Creek 9th addition.
The preliminary plat was for 14 single-family homes by Hedberg Homes in a development at Club West Circle and 111th Avenue to be known as Waters Edge at Club West.
All these developments also included additional property subdivision for even more homes in the future.
Community Development Director Bryan Schafer gave a brief report to the council before each item was unanimously approved.
Schafer reminded the council that a couple of the developments were in areas where Rottlund Homes had previously been approved to develop a higher density of attached townhomes but was unable to complete the projects when the housing market took a bad turn. These two areas are the 55th addition of The Lakes on the north side of the development that Centra Homes will now work on and the Waters Edge at Club West development.
In the Waters Edge area, Schafer said Rottlund had built several attached row townhome buildings to the south and had graded the area that Hedberg Homes is now working with the DK Resource Group to develop.
