Coon Rapids-based Feed My Starving Children has an urgent need for volunteers.
During the summer months, Feed My Starving Children always runs low on volunteers yet has its doors open six days per week and needs to fulfill its annual meal commitments to hungry children around the globe.
Men, women and children as young as five are asked to spend two hours packing nutritious MannaPack meals at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids, Chanhassen or Eagan.
Volunteer groups are needed Monday through Saturday year-round to meet shipment promised to 70 developing countries.
Volunteers are especially needed on weekdays in the summer months. Day or evening sessions are also available.
Packers learn about hunger and fill bags with dehydrated ingredients. At the end of the session they learn how many meals they packed.
A faith-based nonprofit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries where meals are used to support orphanages, schools, clinics and other blocks of healthy communities.
In the most recent fiscal year, Feed My Starving Children had 657,000 volunteer to produce 163 million meals. Sign up to volunteer at www.fmsc.org/volunteer.
