Girls’ ice hockey shoots for District 11 approval

Girls’ ice hockey has completed its first pass and has positioned itself to take a successful shot from the blue line that represents the Anoka-Hennepin School District.

Responding to pleas and cries for gender equity in extra-curricular activities, the administrative staff recommended Monday that the district initiate a developmental program for girls’ hockey for the 1993-94 school year.

The girls’ hockey teams will practice on a limited basis three times per week and possibly have scrimmages against other metro area schools that will field teams in 1993-94, including Burnsville, Elk River and Blake.
