Local VFW, Legion members donate to Eagle’s Healing Nest

Members of Blaine Sgt. John Rice VFW Post 6316, Coon Rapids VFW Post 9625 and the Anoka American Legion Post 102 recently delivered many donations to the newly-opened home for veterans, the Eagle’s Healing Nest near Sauk Centre.

The Eagle’s Healing Nest offers comprehensive programming designed to meet the needs of all service men and women, including treatment and recovery for post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, substance abuse and addiction, homelessness, anxiety, anger management. It offers suicide prevention and education, sexual trauma and family counseling and equine therapy.

The Eagle’s Healing Nest’s mission is to provide assistance in the healing of the invisible wounds of war for military men and women – past, present and future.

It provides board and lodging to the military in order to prevent homelessness. Residential and outpatient treatment is available to military members and their families.

This new home is run on volunteers and donations.
