Coon Rapids residents who live in the eastern portion of the city may see crews from Connexus Energy trimming trees this summer.
Crews are expected to be in the area beginning in July to trim trees on utility easement property.
This is required to maintain proper tree clearance and minimize power outages under the National Electric Safety Code.
The tree trimming area includes neighborhoods south of 121st Avenue, east of the railroad tracks, west of University Avenue and north of Highway 10.
Before any work begins, residents will be notified by tree trimming crews, either in person or with a door hanger. Workers may need access to private property to remove tree branches in the utility easement area.
Crews will trim, cut or remove trees that, in their judgment, may cause an interruption in service, endanger the company’s electric lines or present a safety hazard.
By receiving service through Connexus, customers consent to allowing crews onto their properties to trim, cut or remove trees and other vegetation, including the application of herbicides, as the company determines to be necessary for its line maintenance program.
