Coon Rapids Junior Royalty recognized by council

The 2013 Coon Rapids Junior Royalty have been proclaimed “Coon Rapids Ambassadors of Goodwill” by Mayor Tim Howe.

Members of the Junior Royalty, along with Coon Rapids Snowflake Days Senior King and Queen Roger and Jeannie Wolfgram were at a recent Coon Rapids City Council meeting to receive the proclamation from Howe.

The Coon Rapids Junior Royalty Pageant is a longtime Coon Rapids Snowflake Days event.

Junior Royalty members not only take part in community activities in Coon Rapids, but also in parades and community events all over the Twin Cities area.

In addition, the Junior Royalty do community service projects in Coon Rapids; they are required to perform a minimum of 10 hours of community service during their year-long reign.

The 2013 Junior Royalty took part in their first parade of the summer June 6 at Spring Lake Park Tower Days on the Coon Rapids Snowflake Days float.

They were also be part of the Coon Rapids Fourth of July celebration parade July 3.

“They will have a very busy summer representing us,” Howe said.

Jeannie Wolfgram thanked the city to maintaining the float, which, she said, won five awards during last year’s parade season.

“We are really proud of that,” Wolfgram said.

“We are very proud to be representing the city of Coon Rapids.”
