The Big WIFF! tourney set for August 17 at Blaine’s Miracle Field

Grab a plastic bat, whiffle ball and some friends to take part in Popsicle’s The BIG WIFF tournament to benefit the Miracle League of Minnesota August 17.

Ten Miracle League baseball fields across Minnesota will host a tournament which serves as a fund raiser for the Miracle League of Minnesota, a non-profit that provides kids with special needs a chance to play baseball.

Each field is made of a special material and custom-designed to accommodate wheelchairs and walking devices while helping to prevent injuries.

Previous experience is not necessary to participate as teams of three to five people play in a round-robin style tournament, all ages and skill levels are welcomed. Team registration is $100 and deadline to enter is August 17. Register online at thebigwiff.com.

Other locations include Brainerd, Duluth, Hibbing, Lakeville, Mankato, Minnetonka, Rochester, St. Cloud and Woodbury.

Winning teams from each site will compete in a championship-round tournament at one location where the winning team will be awarded a trip for all team members to attend Minnesota Twins spring training in Fort Myers, Fla. Awards will also be handed out for money raised in addition to best team costumes.
