Anoka man arrested in Blaine for multiple felonies

An Anoka man has been arraigned in Anoka County District Court on three felony charges for an incident in Blaine.

Eric Jon Krueger, 42, 550 Greenhaven Rd., was charged with attempted simple robbery, receiving stolen property and fleeing police in a motor vehicle.

According to the criminal complaint, a Blaine Police officer July 19 at 1:02 p.m. saw Krueger leave a known drug house on the 10000 block of Cord Street. The license plates on the truck had been reported stolen July 18, so the officer attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, later identified as Krueger, allegedly sped away, ran a red light at Lexington Avenue and Pheasant Ridge Drive and cut through lawns and driveways to elude several squad cars. The pursuit was called off because of concern for public safety on this Friday afternoon.

Witnesses later reported seeing the vehicle drive at a very high rate of speed south on Hastings Street and later pull into a Walgreen’s parking lot in the area of Aberdeen Street and 124th Avenue, according to the complaint.

It was in this parking lot where Krueger allegedly pulled on another driver’s forearm and screamed at her to get out of the van. A Blaine officer arrived and arrested Krueger as he was attempting to get into the van, according to the complaint.

Blaine Police later confirmed the truck had been stolen June 27.
