Miss Blaine, Patricia Hitchcock of 1123-128th Avenue N.E., has been taking part in the Minneapolis Aquatennial events, including parades, fashion shows, interviews, tours and luncheons.

Angela Hering selected as Aquatennial first princess

For the sixth year in a row, a member of Spring Lake Park’s Junior Royalty has been selected to reign as part of the 1984 Aquatennial Junior Royalty.

Carrying on the tradition this year  is 1982 Spring Lake Park Junior Queen Angela Hering. She was selected as first princess and will make numerous appearances and participate in a variety of activities throughout the year including the St. Paul Winter Carnival Parade.

She will be in second grade at Park Terrace elementary this fall.

Local theater heads into its ninth season

What we really need in life and what we think we need are two different things. Both are examined in the Metropolitan Players Community Theater production, “Into the Woods.”

The much acclaimed Broadway musical, winner of five Tony Awards including best new musical in 1988, is the ninth production for the Spring Lake Park-based community theater.
