The Coon Rapids/Andover American Little League 11-year old all star team also won their Little League state tournament by beating Lake Park 15-5 on July 27 and winning 9-8 on July 28.

A celebration for both state champion teams will be held 5-8:30 p.m. tonight (July 30) at Sand Creek Park, Coon Rapids. The party will also be a fund-raiser to help support the Coon Rapids/Andover 12-year olds to raise money for their trip to Indianapolis.

Highlights of the party include a wiffle ball tournament, parents’ home run derby, music, games, a bouncy house, burgers and more.

The team’s first game is 6:30 p.m. Twin Cities time Friday, Aug. 2 against the North/South Dakota Timberline Little League team out of Rapid City, SD.
