Twin Cities Orthopedics offers physicals for kids

Twin Cities Orthopedics is partnering with various Twin Cities primary care groups to offer free Minnesota State High School League qualifying physicals at six locations.

One of them will be Tuesday, Aug. 6, 5-8 p.m., at Twin Cities Orthopedics Coon Rapids with primary care partners Allina Medical Clinic and Multicare Associates.

The Minnesota State High School League, a voluntary, nonprofit association for the support and governance of interscholastic activities at Minnesota’s high schools, requires the exam of all students participating in high school sports.

The screenings are intended for generally healthy athletes without any known, pre-existing health problems.

Athletes with diagnosed health conditions should consult with their physician for a more in-depth physical.

Along with a free physical exam, students will also receive sports drinks and nutrition bars, free drawstring backpacks and a chance to win an iPad mini (drawing for those who RSVP two or more days in advance).

To register, email SportsPhysicals@TCOmn.com or call 952-512-5647. Priority and a one-hour time block will be given to those who RSVP.

Walk-ins are welcome, but are not guaranteed to be seen. Space is limited.

The Minnesota high school sports qualifying physical examination clearance form must be signed by parent, or a parent must be present.
