Former Ramsey man sentenced for criminal sexual conduct

A former Ramsey resident was sentenced July 23 in Anoka County District Court to 10 years of probation for a felony criminal sexual conduct conviction. A 54-month prison sentence was stayed.

Justin Michael Armbrust, 21, of Minneapolis pleaded guilty in February to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. A third-degree charge was dismissed at sentencing.

Armbrust was ordered to complete a sex offender aftercare program, supply a DNA sample, have no contact with girls under the age of 18 unless approved by corrections, submit to polygraph examinations as directed, register as a predatory offender and not possess any pornographic material. He was ordered to pay restitution totaling $400.

According to the criminal complaint, police caught Armbrust with a 14-year-old girl in his vehicle the morning of June 13, 2012 in an East Bethel neighborhood.

The girl told police that Armbrust is friends with her older siblings and knows her age.

Armbrust admitted that he picked her up after she snuck away from home. They both touched each other underneath their clothing in private areas while they were in the back seat, according to the complaint.
