A Coon Rapids day at the St. Paul Saints will take place Thursday, Aug. 22.
This annual event is the result of CTN, the city’s cable television studio, providing television coverage of St. Paul Saints’ baseball games at Midway Stadium.
In exchange, the city gets game tickets free of charge for a Coon Rapids Saints Day, according to Eric Strouse, CTN production supervisor.
Tickets are available to city staff, members of the city’s advisory commissions and residents.
“This exchange provides an opportunity to host Coon Rapids while allowing CTN to promote business services and show its capabilities,” Strouse said.
“The potential for future larger-scale coverage projects is being considered once the new St. Paul stadium opens.”
The free reserved tickets come with a meal that will be served at the Hardball Cafe at Midway Stadium.
The meal starts at 6 p.m. with the game against Winnipeg at 7:05 p.m.
Residents interested in obtaining tickets should contact City Clerk Cathy Sorensen at 763-767-6493.
They are available on a limited, first-come, first serve basis, Sorensen said.
