Conditions of five injured in Oak Grove crash improve

Five people who were transported to hospitals Tuesday evening (Aug. 20), after a head-on crash on 221st Avenue in Oak Grove are in stable condition or have been released from the hospital, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the accident 5:18 p.m. The cause of the two-vehicle collision is still under investigation.

It occurred near the railroad tracks, but did not involve a train, the sheriff’s office said.

Three people were airlifted to hospitals, one to North Memorial and two to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Two others were transported by ambulance to unknown local hospitals.
