A 20-year-old Blaine man was arraigned July 29 in Anoka County District Court on burglary and assault charges.
Kyle Jordan Hexum, was charged with felony first-degree burglary, gross misdemeanor fourth-degree burglary and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault. His next court appearance is Aug. 29.
According to the criminal complaint, Hexum July 26 entered the attached garage of a Blaine home on the 11700 block of Jefferson St. NE and stole beer and wine from the refrigerator.
The complaint alleges that the homeowner caught Hexum after a short pursuit, brought Hexum back to his home and called 911 at 12:26 p.m.
While waiting for police to arrive, Hexum allegedly punched the man in the groin and fled, but police caught him a short distance later and recovered the stolen beer and wine.
