Tea served to the ladies at Coon Rapids Senior Center

Pretty little ladies and their chic grandmothers enjoyed an afternoon of tea and treats during the second annual Grandmother and Granddaughter Tea served Aug. 12 at the Coon Rapids Senior Center.

The ladies brought their own tea cups and saucers – some in the family for generations – and sipped hot tea or cold lemonade and noshed on tasty treats served on pretty platters.

The two dozen girls and their grandmothers, dressed in sun dresses and summer hats, also played some word games and decorated sugar cookies during the event.

As a special memento of the day, Coon Rapids Senior Services Program Specialist Kris Niebler captured keepsake portraits, photographing the granddaughters and grandmothers inside a vintage wooden frame.
