Seven seek office in Blaine elections

With five people seeking the office of mayor in Blaine, voters will go to the polls Sept. 11 to narrow the field to two for the final November election. The list of candidates includes Robert Haywood, Paul Imig, Jack MaHaffey, Ivan Grotenhuis, and Roger Barnes.

Blaine FFA group wins sweepstakes

The Blaine High School Chapter of Future Farmers of America won the sweepstakes award for their booth in the horticulture building at the Minnesota Fairgrounds.

About 20 students in the Outdoor Occupations class worked on the booth which illustrates a study room decorated with indoor house plants.

Toy library offers kids diversity, saves parents lots of money

It’s a library unique, filled with books, games, puzzles, tricycles, slides, and toys galore.

The toy library at Arc of Anoka County is as diverse as it is special.

Serving children between the ages of newborn and six years old, the library also has adaptive equipment for handicapped children: all waiting to be checked out.
