Coon Rapids Fire Department will host its annual fall golf classic at Bunker Hills Golf Course Friday, Sept. 20.
All proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Coon Rapids Firefighters Local 1935, go to support local charities.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., when the driving range and practice green at the course will be open.
The 18-hole tournament play starts at 1:30 p.m. with social hour at 4:30 p.m. and dinner to follow at The Harvest Grill, which is located in the Bunker Hills Clubhouse.
Tournament participation costs $320 for a foursome and dinner, $85 for an individual player and dinner and $20 for an individual dinner only.
In addition, tournament organizers are looking for sponsors.
Packages include $3,000 for corporate sponsor; $1,500 for platinum sponsor; $450 for gold sponsor; $15 for silver sponsor; and $50-100 for bronze sponsor.
Other sponsorships are also available – sponsor a hole and invite three golfers, hole-in-one contest and hole without golf.
There will be door prizes and silent auction at the dinner.
The Coon Rapids Firefighters Local has been donating to local organizations for more than 40 years as well as families in need as a result of a fire or other emergency event.
Past donations have supported Amy’s Cardinal’s Nest, Anoka County Cougars, Breast Cancer Three-Day, Coon Rapids High School football and baseball, safety camps, Coon Rapids little leagues, Coon Rapids youth hockey, Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, Leukemia Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Miss Coon Rapids Scholarship Pageant, Northern Voices Oral School for Deaf Children, Touched by Cancer Inc., Toys for Joy and Volunteers of America.
