Christmas bells are ringing … at least they are ringing in choir director Duayne Malewicki’s ears.
Sure, it’s only September, but Malewicki has started to form the North Suburban Community Choir and welcomes singers of all octaves to join him to perform a pair of traditional Christmas concerts in December.
Each year, Malewicki leads a talented group of local singers and musicians as the community choir sings Christmas songs to music performed by the North Suburban Concert Band.
The Twin Cities Youth Chorale adds its youthful harmonies to the mix and a traditional Christmas holiday concert is performed at Andover High School.
The community choir is a voluntary group of singers led by Malewicki, a former Park Center High School choir instructor. Rehearsals take place 6:30-9 p.m. every Sunday evening, beginning Oct. 27 at Prince of Peace Church, Brooklyn Park.
Singers interested in joining the adult choir – no auditions required – should call 763-427-3938 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The choir is limited to 120 singers and always fills quickly, so don’t miss a beat. Call or email right away.
