Legion riders group plan inagural ride

The Coon Rapids American Legion Riders will have a busy day Sunday, Sept. 15.

Following an inaugural ride leaving the Legion post at 10:30 a.m., the Legion motorcycle riders will host a corn feed at the post, 11640 Crooked Lake Blvd., from 2 to 7 p.m.

Registration for the September sun ride is from 9 to 10 a.m. with breakfast served at the same time.

En route, the Legion riders will make stops at the American Legion posts in St. Francis, Zimmerman, Elk River, Champlin and Anoka.

The cost for riders is $15 including breakfast and $10 for passengers including breakfast.

All rides are dry with no alcohol consumption until the return to the Coon Rapids American Legion Post.

There will also be two fuel stops on the ride to show appreciation to Kwik Trip for its donations to the Coon Rapids American Legion.

The corn feed will feature burgers and brats, music and games, beer and soda and prizes.

Corn will cost $2 an ear or all you can for $5, with hot dogs at $2, brats at $3 and burgers and $4.

The Coon Rapids American Legion Riders group is one of more than 425 American Legion Riders programs organized by chapters, districts or departments to support Americanism and children and youth programs in virtually every state in the country.
