The Blaine City Council Sept. 5 unanimously approved a few more housing project plats. The four projects included two different developers.
Capstone Homes of Ramsey received two final plat approvals.
It is subdividing 8.44 acres into 34 single-family lots in the area of 123rd Lane and Midway Circle to be known as The Lakes of Radisson 56th Addition.
Planning and Community Development Director Bryan Schafer said Sharper Homes had begun building in this area, but left the project and Capstone Homes purchased the balance of the property.
The second phase of the Harpers Street Woods housing development was the second final plat the council approved for Capstone Homes Sept. 5. Schafer said all 15 single-family homes in a 3.44-acre area would be along the new 129th Lane segment west of Harpers Street.
Dan Hennum received preliminary plat approval for two developments. One is to subdivide five acres into 14 single-family lots and the other is to subdivide 4.35 acres into 12 single-family homes. These developments are close to each other on the west side of Jackson Street around 99th and 101st lanes, but they will be by other single-family homes that have already been constructed.
With both projects within eyesight of Hennum’s own home, he said he is anxious to get these projects started and completed.
He would like to have the new streets in by Thanksgiving and start building homes this spring, according to Hennum.
“I’m a neighbor. I like clean streets. I’ll make sure everything is clean,” Hennum said. “This should be a short project, about five to six weeks from start to finish, something that I don’t want to drag out and I’d actually like to have this thing be ready to build in the spring.”
