The award honors employees who demonstrate outstanding commitment and dedication to the Lutheran Social Service vision and mission.

This year, 80 of the 2,300 employees at Lutheran Social Service were selected to receive the award.

Abraham serves in disability services for Lutheran Social Service.

“LSS staff who win the coveted LSS Spirit Award are nominated by their peers and supervisors,” said Jodi Harpstead, chief executive officer at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota.

“With this award, we appreciate and recognize their outstanding commitment to the people we serve and their spirit of generosity.

“I am delighted to be their colleague in this organization that is grounded in compassion and competence.”

Spirit Award winners were honored and recognized at an awards luncheon at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud in late August.

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota helps children and families, people with disabilities and older Minnesotans by offering a wide range of services.

The non-profit organization, headquartered in St. Paul, serves over 100,000 Minnesotans yearly with operations in 300 Minnesota communities, and employs over 2,300 people.
