Scott Hansen Comedy Night will take place at the Coon Rapids VFW Post 9625 Saturday, Oct. 19.
It will be an entertaining night of dinner and comedy, according to Mike Gifford, president of the Coon Rapids VFW Men’s Auxiliary, which is hosting the event in collaboration with the Coon Rapids VFW and Ladies Auxiliary.
This is a fundraiser to “continue support for the causes and charities we devote ourselves to within the community,” Gifford said.
“Scott Hansen will be visiting the Coon Rapids VFW Post 9625 with a band of fellow troublemakers and their goal is to help us have a night of laughter with great friends and food.”
Hansen is the unprecedented, five-time winner of the Minnesota Comedian of the Year award and has developed and created two pilots and a series for Comedy Central including “Access America,” which starred Fred Willard, “Digest America” and “Seriously Weird Magazine,” which starred Joel Hodgson (“Mystery Science Theatre 3000”).
He has written comedy material that has been performed on the “Tonight Show” or “David Letterman” by Jay Leno, Louie Anderson and Roseanne Barr.
Hansen began doing comedy when he was five years old and his first performance was in first grade.
He has made national television appearances on HBO, Showtime, A&E and E!, using his own material.
