Man pleads guilty to fleeing police

James Allen Zaske pleaded guilty in Anoka County District Court Sept. 26 to a felony fleeing police in a motor vehicle charge for an incident in Spring Lake Park.

Zaske, 46, no permanent address, sped down County Road 10 Aug. 27, even after police turned on their sirens in pursuit.

He traveled faster than 100 mph before hitting a tree in the Country Inn Suites parking lot, 155 Coon Rapids Blvd. NW, where he attempted to exit the vehicle and continue running, according to the criminal complaint.

On his arrest, police discovered that he had an active felony warrant in Wadena County, also for fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

He will be sentenced Oct. 23 and remains in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
