Chief Otto J. Lind of the Spring Lake Park Police Department has announced that the Spring Lake Park Police Department is participating actively in Minnesota Crime Watch, the statewide program to prevent home burglary developed by the Governor’s Commission on Crime Prevention and Control.

Public meeting set on review of airport plan

A master plan for the Anoka County Airport, approved by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) in August, is now under review by the Metropolitan Council.

A draft review by council staff will be presented to the Transportation Advisory Board Oct. 19.

Stepping down

Anoka County Park Director David L. Torklidson to retire; county board claims park director disciplined.

Smarting under public criticism for not disciplining a long-time supervisor who recently pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft, some members of the Anoka County Board, say the board acted promptly and responsibly in dealing with the matter.

Furthermore, stripping Anoka County Park Director David L. Torklidson of his supervisory position, his staff and all contact with operations of a job where he excels and loves, was indeed punishment, County Board members claim.
