Liquor license revoked in Anoka

The liquor license for Woodman’s Grill, which operates as Hunters Cafe, has been revoked.

The Anoka City Council Oct. 7 unanimously agreed to pull the license from the restaurant, located on First Avenue in downtown Anoka.

The city was notified last month by the Minnesota Department of Revenue that Woodsman’s Grill LLC was delinquent in taxes, according to City Clerk Amy Oehlers.

State law requires the city to revoke the business’s wine and strong beer license within 30 days of receipt of the letter, Oehlers said.

There were no comments made at the Oct. 7 public hearing for the revocation of the liquor license.

Oehlers says the license to sell 3.2 malt liquor at Hunters Cafe remains in place.
