Nyssa Johnson, Coon Rapids, has been selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Teen Minneapolis/St. Paul Pageant that will take place Sunday, Oct. 20.
Johnson submitted an application and was selected following an interview with this year’s Minneapolis/St. Paul Pageant coordinator.
She will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants.
Johnson is a contestant in the Miss Teen division, one of four divisions for girls ages seven to 19 competing in modeling routines, which include both casual and formal wear.
In addition, Johnson will show her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s pageant judging panel.
Personality is the main criteria on which candidates are judged during all phases of the competition.
If Johnson wins the Miss Teen title, she will represent Minneapolis/St. Paul and the surrounding communities in national competition in Orlando, Fla.
Over $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the national pageant, for which each contestant will get an expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando.
