Festivities start at 6 p.m. and tickets, $20 each, are available at the door.

The event includes free appetizers and free wine tasting. Tony Garry will provide live music throughout the evening.

As they have in the past, the Rotarians have assembled quite a lineup of live auction items. The list features a tandem sky dive at Skydive Twin Cities, a one-week stay in Scottsdale, Ariz., a one-week stay at Breezy Point, wines and a money jar stuffed with hundreds of dollars.

As in past years, club member Scott Schulte will handle the chores as auctioneer.

At a little slower pace, there’s a silent auction with dozens of items ranging from carpet cleaning to Gopher basketball tickets.

There’s also the ever-popular “heads and tails” game with cash prizes to the winners and attendees can “pop a cork” for a bottle of good wine and have a chance to win a very expensive bottle of vintage wine.

Event underwriters include Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Anoka Technical College, Hi-Ten Service Center, Hubmer, Ovik & Enstad LLC, Mary T Inc., Northeast Bank, 21st Century Bank, First Advantage Bank, Coon Rapids Chiropractic, Integrated Real Estate Services and County Commissioner Scott Schulte.

Money raised from last year’s event was distributed to over 20 local organizations by the Coon Rapids Rotary Foundation.

“We’re working hard to do an even better job this year,” said Event Chairperson Tim Anderson.

“Our community partners really need our support. As a service organization, our Rotary club is committed to doing as much as we can to help. Our underwriters have been tremendous in helping us put this event together”

Anderson is hoping for a record turnout for this year’s event. “The Harvest Grill Event Center is a wonderful and exciting venue and we’re sure that alone will attract some newcomers,” he said.

“Easier parking will help as well. We’re sure you’ll have a great time so call your friends and come on out for an evening of fun.”

The Coon Rapids Rotary Club meets every Monday at noon at the Harvest Grill. For more information about the wine tasting–live auction event, call Dave McCauley at 763-757-2517 or drop by the Harvest Grill and attend one of the Monday noon meetings.
