Blaine man accused of assaulting girlfriend’s ex

A Blaine man was arraigned Sept. 16 in Anoka County District Court on a felony third-degree assault charge.

Frank Anthony Quinn, 43, will make his next court appearance Oct. 28.

According to the criminal complaint, Blaine Police responded to an assault report 11 p.m. Sept. 13 on the 2400 block of 119th Court NE.

On arrival, officers spoke with a man who alleged he had been assaulted by Quinn after being invited via text message by his ex-girlfriend to come to the Blaine home.

The victim alleged he was attacked by his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend — Quinn — as soon as he came through the door.

Police observed and photographed a number of injuries to his face including a knocked out tooth, according to the complaint.

The Blaine homeowner alleged she did not send a text message to her ex-boyfriend and she did not know how the incident got started.

Officers found her phone in the garbage and the battery in Quinn’s pocket. She allegedly told police that she believes Quinn used her phone to send the text message to lure her ex-boyfriend to her home.
