Spooky spell cast on Anoka homes, visit winners’ properties this weekend

Tombstones rest on hallowed lawns. Witches shriek in the night sky and bloodthirsty vampires search for hapless wanderers while a pumpkin king reigns over a field of rotting corn stalks.

The “Vampire’s Lair” (1300-4th Ave., Anoka) captured third place in the 2013 Anoka Halloween/US Bank house decorating contest. Public viewing of the lair and all competing houses takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening.
