North Suburban Concert Band presents Halloween concert

The North Suburban Concert Band and Elk River High School’s Wind Symphony will play classic and contemporary selections with a free Halloween concert 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at Elk River High School (900 School St., Elk River).

The Elk River Wind Symphony will play “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay, John Williams’ classic “Superman” piece, a plethora of Halloween classics in “Band-O-Ween”, and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

The North Suburban Concert Band will perform a selection of themes from “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” composed by Howard Shore; a witches’ dance from the opera Le Villi called “La Tregenda,” that was written by Giacomo Puccini, “March of the Trolls” by Edvard Grieg, and “Mussorgsky!” by Modest Mussorgsky.

Both bands will come together to play songs from all eight Harry Potter movies.

Concert-goers are invited to dress in their Halloween best to enjoy the show.
